EWANGELIA - Mk 6, 34-44 (Rozmnażając chleb, Jezus objawia swoją moc)

Gdy Jezus ujrzał wielki tłum, zlitował się nad nimi, byli bowiem jak owce niemające pasterza. I zaczął ich nauczać o wielu sprawach.
A gdy pora była już późna, przystąpili do Niego uczniowie i rzekli: «Miejsce to jest pustkowiem, a pora już późna. Odpraw ich. Niech idą do okolicznych osiedli i wsi, a kupią sobie coś do jedzenia».
Lecz On im odpowiedział: «Wy dajcie im jeść!»
Rzekli Mu: «Mamy pójść i za dwieście denarów kupić chleba, żeby dać im jeść?»
On ich spytał: «Ile macie chlebów? Idźcie, zobaczcie!»
Gdy się upewnili, rzekli: «Pięć i dwie ryby».
Wtedy polecił im wszystkim usiąść gromadami na zielonej trawie. I rozłożyli się, gromada przy gromadzie, po stu i pięćdziesięciu.
A wziąwszy pięć chlebów i dwie ryby, spojrzał w niebo, odmówił błogosławieństwo, połamał chleby i dawał uczniom, by podawali im; także dwie ryby rozdzielił między wszystkich. Jedli wszyscy do syta i zebrali jeszcze dwanaście pełnych koszów ułomków i resztek z ryb. A tych, którzy jedli chleby, było pięć tysięcy mężczyzn.

MEDYTACJA

Jezus dostrzega, że ludziom, którzy są wokół Niego, czegoś brakuje. Bóg jest czujny i z troską stara się zaspokoić braki w człowieku. Czasami może nam się wydawać, że Bóg nie widzi, czego potrzebujemy. Jednak tak nie jest...

'Wy dajcie im jeść', tak mówi Jezus do swoich uczniów. Bóg potrzebuje ludzi i zachęca ich, aby współdziałali z Nim w karmieniu ludzi. Człowiekowi nie wystarczy sam pokarm, aby żyć w pełni. Każdy z nas karmi się również usłyszanymi słowami i czynami, których doświadcza od drugiego człowieka. Wszystkie dobre, drobne gesty mogą sprawić, że osoba obok nas doświadczy oraz nakarmi się dobrocią i miłością...

Po rozmnożeniu chleba, gdy wszyscy się najedli, zebrano jeszcze dwanaście pełnych koszy resztek chleba. Bóg jest tak bardzo hojny w dawaniu, że nie jesteśmy w stanie wszystkiego przyjąć...

"Nie my umiłowaliśmy Boga, ale (..) On sam nas umiłował" (1 J 4, 10). By na nowo przyjąć tę prawdę, że to On nas pierwszy umiłował, umiłował i nie przestaje miłować potrzeba naszej pamięci o ważnych momentach życia, w których czuliśmy Jego Opatrzność, o chwilach, w których napełnił nas pełnią szczęścia...

Jezus i apostołowie przemieszczają się łodzią na przeciwległy brzeg jeziora. Podąża za nimi spory tłum. Uczniowie czują się bezradni wobec tej sytuacji, bo wydaje im się, że nie będą w stanie zaspokoić potrzeb tak wielkiej grupy ludzi. To jest jak proroctwo na wszystkie czasy...

Ludzkość nie jest zjednoczona, nękana podziałami, konfrontowana konfliktami na poziomie indywidualnym, społecznym i międzynarodowym. Do takiej wspólnoty Kościoła Jezus mówi: 'wy dajcie im jeść!', co może wprowadzić w zakłopotanie. To próba wiary dla wierzących, by patrzeć na sytuację ludzi oczyma Chrystusa...

Głód nauczania prowokuje Jezusa, by uczynił cud zaspokojenia głodu fizycznego. W pierwotnym Kościele najpierw było słowo prowadzące do nawrócenia
i wspólnota dóbr, jako jego owoc. Dopiero potem była Eucharystia i uwielbienie Boga. To było 'widzieć i litować się' w praktyce pierwszych wspólnot...

To jest 'praca' uczniów. Ewangeliczna 'praca uczniów'. Dawać chleb Ewangelii i służyć. Jedno jest połączone z drugim. Jeśli tylko, jako uczniowie, mową głosimy Słowo, a zapominamy o świadectwie ewangelicznego sposobu życia, to znaczy, że coś nie działa, że nie robimy tego, co pokazywał nam Chrystus. Nie tędy droga. To nie będzie działało...

Bóg troszczy się nie tylko o nasze potrzeby duchowe, ale także o codzienne sprawy. Jezus karmiąc w cudowny sposób rzesze głodnych, pokazuje, że dla Niego każdy człowiek jest ważny i że żadne potrzeby nie są dla Niego zbyt błahe. Serce chrześcijanina powinno bić w rytmie miłości do Boga i do bliźnich. Miłość objawia się w drobnych gestach, w gotowości do służby i w otwartości na drugiego człowieka...

Każda nasza relacja, każdy gest dobroci i przebaczenia, powinien być odbiciem Bożej miłości. Jesteśmy zaproszeni, by patrzeć na innych oczami Jezusa –
z cierpliwością i troską...

Apostołowie są świadkami niewyobrażalnej sytuacji – nakarmienia kilku tysięcy ludzi pięcioma chlebami i dwiema rybami. Ta sytuacja jest jeszcze bardziej niewyobrażalna dla zwykłych ludzi. Ale bez względu na okoliczności zauważmy, że obecność Boga sprawia, iż niemożliwe staje się możliwe...

„Ja jestem”, to słowa, którymi Bóg przedstawia się człowiekowi w Starym Testamencie. Za każdym razem Jego obecność zmienia rzeczywistość, wyprowadza
z trudności i zaspokaja wszelki głód. Tak też może być w naszym życiu...

...Jezu, proszę o głęboką wiarę w Twoją cudowną opiekę w moim życiu... Proszę o otwartość oczu i serca na potrzeby braci i sióstr... Dziękuję za uzdolnienie mnie do służenia innym...

GOSPEL - Mk 6, 34-44 (Jesus shows his power by multiplying the loaves)

When Jesus saw the large crowd, he had compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd. And he began to teach them many things.
And when it was already late, the disciples came to him and said, "This place is desolate, and the hour is already late. Send them away, and let them go into the surrounding towns and villages and buy something to eat."
But he answered them, "You yourselves give them something to eat."
They said to him, "Shall we go and buy two hundred denarii worth of bread, and give them something to eat?"
He said to them, "How many loaves do you have? Go and see!"
When they were sure, they said, "Five and two fish."
Then he commanded them all to sit down in groups on the green grass. And they sat down, group by group, by one hundred and fifty.
And he took the five loaves and the two fishes, and looked up to heaven, and blessed, and broke the loaves, and gave them to the disciples to give to them; and he divided the two fishes among them all. And they all ate until they were satisfied, and they took up twelve baskets full of fragments and remains of the fishes. And those who ate the loaves were five thousand men.

MEDITATION

Jesus sees that the people around him lack something. God is watchful and with care tries to satisfy the deficiencies in man. Sometimes it may seem to us that God does not see what we need. But this is not so...

'You give them something to eat', this is what Jesus says to his disciples. God needs people and encourages them to cooperate with him in feeding people. Food alone is not enough for man to live in fullness. Each of us also nourishes himself with the words we hear and the actions we experience from another person. All good, small gestures can make the person next to us experience and be fed with goodness and love...

After the multiplication of the loaves, when everyone had eaten, twelve full baskets of leftover bread were collected. God is so generous in giving that we are not able to accept everything...

"We did not love God, but (..) he loved us" (1 John 4:10). In order to accept again this truth that he loved us first, loved us and does not cease to love us, we need to remember the important moments in life in which we felt his providence, the moments in which he filled us with fullness of happiness...

Jesus and the apostles are moving by boat to the opposite shore of the lake. A large crowd follows them. The disciples feel helpless in the face of this situation, because it seems to them that they will not be able to meet the needs of such a large group of people. It is like a prophecy for all times...

Humanity is not united, plagued by divisions, confronted by conflicts on the individual, social and international level. To such a community of the Church Jesus says: 'ye give them something to eat!', which can be embarrassing. It is a test of faith for believers, to look at the situation of people through the eyes of Christ...

The hunger for teaching provokes Jesus to perform the miracle of satisfying physical hunger. In the early Church, first there was the word leading to conversion and the community of goods, as its fruit. Only then there was the Eucharist and the glorification of God. It was 'to see and have pity' in the practice of the first communities...

This is the 'work' of the disciples. The evangelical 'work of the disciples'. To give the bread of the Gospel and to serve. One is connected with the other. If, as disciples, we only preach the Word with speech, and forget about the witness of the evangelical way of life, it means that something is not working, that we are not doing what Christ showed us. This is not the way. It won't work...

God cares not only about our spiritual needs, but also about everyday matters. By miraculously feeding the hungry, Jesus shows that every person is important to Him and that no need is too trivial for Him. The heart of a Christian should beat in the rhythm of love for God and for one's neighbors. Love is revealed in small gestures, in readiness to serve and in openness to another person...

Every relationship, every gesture of kindness and forgiveness, should be a reflection of God's love. We are invited to look at others through the eyes of Jesus - with patience and care...

The Apostles witness an unimaginable situation - feeding several thousand people with five loaves and two fish. This situation is even more unimaginable for ordinary people. But regardless of the circumstances, let us notice that God's presence makes the impossible possible...

"I am" are the words with which God introduces Himself to man in the Old Testament. Each time, His presence changes reality, leads out of difficulties and satisfies every hunger. This can also be the case in our lives...

...Jesus, I ask for deep faith in Your miraculous care in my life... I ask for openness of eyes and heart to the needs of brothers and sisters... Thank you for enabling me to serve others...
