EWANGELIA - Łk 2, 16-21 (Nadano Mu imię Jezus)

Pasterze pośpiesznie udali się do Betlejem i znaleźli Maryję, Józefa oraz leżące w żłobie Niemowlę. Gdy Je ujrzeli, opowiedzieli, co im zostało objawione
o tym dziecięciu. A wszyscy, którzy to słyszeli, zdumieli się tym, co im pasterze opowiedzieli.
Lecz Maryja zachowywała wszystkie te sprawy i rozważała je w swoim sercu. A pasterze wrócili, wielbiąc i wysławiając Boga za wszystko, co słyszeli
i widzieli, jak im to zostało przedtem powiedziane.
Gdy nadszedł dzień ósmy i należało obrzezać dziecię, nadano Mu imię Jezus, którym Je nazwał Anioł, zanim się poczęło w łonie Matki.

MEDYTACJA

Spróbujmy wyobrazić sobie, że razem z pasterzami wchodzimy do szopy, w której narodził się Jezus. Zatrzymajmy się przed żłóbkiem. Posłuchajmy, co opowiadają pasterze, albo po prostu stańmy wobec tajemnicy objawienia się Boga...

Nowo narodzone dziecko oznacza początek życia, początek czegoś nowego. Zastanówmy się, co nowonarodzony Jezus mógłby przekazać za naszym pośrednictwem...

Tempo życia wymuszają na nas zarówno zewnętrzne wydarzenia i zobowiązania, jak również kaskadowo rodzące się w naszych sercach plany, pragnienie
i oczekiwania. Tymczasem pasterze, jakby oderwani od tempa swoich spraw, pędzą, ale w zupełnie innym kierunku. Porwały ich intrygujące słowa anioła Pańskiego, obietnica wielkiej radości, może ludzkie niedowierzanie i ciekawość...

Bóg jest obecny w naszym życiu przez różnorodne znaki. Dzisiaj w sposób szczególny przemawia do nas przez znak Niemowlęcia. Wielkość Boga polega na byciu małym. Dziecię z Betlejem nie jest ani nie będzie wielkie, bogate i potężne...

Obrzezanie w ósmym dniu, nadanie imienia, jest wypełnieniem zapowiedzi, dopełnieniem historii zbawienia. Ona nie jest ‘fatum’, ale objawieniem Boga, który jest Panem dziejów. To nie tylko wielka historia wszechświata, ale także nasze dzieje i znak Niemowlęcia dany nam na życie wieczne...

Biblijne ‘serce’ to duchowe życie człowieka: myśli, pamięć, uczucia i decyzje. Zwiastowanie i późniejsze wydarzenia nie odbierają Maryi procesu wzrastania
w człowieczeństwie i w wierze. To jest codzienne dojrzewanie i wypowiadanie ‘fiat – niech mi się stanie’, godząc się na wolę Ojca w niebie...

Kościół daje nam za wzór Maryję, rodzicielkę Jezusa. Jak zapisał Ewangelista Łukasz, pasterze odnaleźli Ją w stajni z chorymi zwierzętami, w biedzie, zaduchu, pogardzaną przez właścicieli zajazdów, gdzieś na końcu ówczesnego świata...

Chciejmy w każdym momencie dnia odnajdywać Chrystusa. Nie tylko w 'pachnących, pięknych bogatych' osobach, wydarzeniach, ale też w miejscach,
w których jest smutno i źle, w trudnościach, które chcielibyśmy przed Nim i przed ludźmi ukryć. Te momenty spotkania z Najwyższym przemieniają...

Bóg posłał swojego Syna na świat „gdy nadeszła pełnia czasu”. Tak, przyjście Boga na świat to niewątpliwie coś niezwykłego, co można nazwać szczytowym momentem ludzkiej historii. Boże sprawy dzieją się, chyba zawsze, gdy „czas się wypełnia”. To znaczy gdy przychodzi na nie właściwa pora...

Ludzie pytają dlaczego Bóg pozwala pogrążać się światu w jakiejś straszliwej logice wojny i zniszczenia. W słowach Pawła znajduje się odpowiedź: widocznie nie nadszedł jeszcze na Boża interwencję właściwy czas. Ale kiedyś ten czas nadejdzie. Bo dobry Bóg jest miłośnikiem dobra. Nie zarozumiałej buty i przebiegłej nieprawości...

Kościół zawierza wszystko Maryi. Maryja zachowywała wszystko w sercu. Taki był początek działalności Matki Jezusa. Nie nadmiar słów, tylko milczenie. Do ósmego dnia po narodzeniu, kiedy poszła razem z Józefem obrzezać Syna, zgodnie z tradycją Izraela. Wtedy już cały świat poznał imię Mesjasza, które wydawało się bardzo powszechne...

...Jezu, proszę o łaskę odczytywania codziennych wydarzeń zgodnie z Twoimi oczekiwaniami... Proszę o łaskę wyruszenia ‘z pośpiechem’ na poszukiwanie Tego, który dla mnie się narodził... Dziękuję, że dzisiaj rodzisz się dla mnie...

...Boże, jestem niecierpliwy... Chciałbym już, teraz... Gdy nie reagujesz na ludzką nieprawość rodzi się we mnie podejrzenie, że los krzywdzonych jest Ci obojętny... Jednak wiem, ufam, że to nie tak że czekasz na właściwy czas... Czekasz aż sprawy dojrzeją... Dojrzały owoc zawsze lepszy niż zerwany zbyt wcześnie...

WEDNESDAY, Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God

GOSPEL - Lk 2:16-21 (He was named Jesus)

The shepherds went quickly to Bethlehem and found Mary and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger. And when they saw him, they told what had been told them concerning this child. And all who heard were amazed at what the shepherds had told them.
But Mary kept all these things, pondering them in her heart. And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen, as it had been told them before.
And when the eighth day was come, for the circumcision of the child was done, they called him Jesus, which name the angel had given him before he was conceived in the womb.

MEDITATION

Let us try to imagine that together with the shepherds we enter the barn where Jesus was born. Let us stop in front of the manger. Let us listen to what the shepherds tell us, or let us simply stand before the mystery of God's revelation...

A newborn child means the beginning of life, the beginning of something new. Let us consider what the newborn Jesus could communicate through us...

The pace of life is forced upon us by both external events and obligations, as well as the plans, desires and expectations that cascade in our hearts. Meanwhile, the shepherds, as if detached from the pace of their affairs, rush, but in a completely different direction. They were carried away by the intriguing words of the angel of the Lord, the promise of great joy, perhaps human disbelief and curiosity...

God is present in our lives through various signs. Today, he speaks to us in a special way through the sign of the Infant. The greatness of God consists in being small. The Child of Bethlehem is not and will not be great, rich and powerful...

Circumcision on the eighth day, giving a name, is the fulfillment of the announcement, the completion of the history of salvation. It is not a 'fate', but
a revelation of God, who is the Lord of history. It is not only the great history of the universe, but also our history and the sign of the Infant given to us for eternal life...

The biblical 'heart' is the spiritual life of man: thoughts, memory, feelings and decisions. The Annunciation and subsequent events do not take away from Mary the process of growth in humanity and faith. This is daily maturation and saying 'fiat - let it be done to me', agreeing to the will of the Father in heaven...

The Church gives us as a model Mary, the mother of Jesus. As the Evangelist Luke wrote, the shepherds found her in a stable with sick animals, in poverty, stuffiness, despised by the owners of the inns, somewhere at the end of the world of that time...

Let us want to find Christ at every moment of the day. Not only in 'fragrant, beautiful, rich' people, events, but also in places where it is sad and bad, in difficulties that we would like to hide from Him and from people. These moments of meeting the Most High transform...

God sent his Son into the world "when the fullness of time had come". Yes, the coming of God into the world is undoubtedly something extraordinary, which can be called the culmination of human history. God's affairs happen, probably always, when "time is fulfilled". That is, when the right time comes for them...

People ask why God allows the world to sink into some terrible logic of war and destruction. The answer is found in Paul's words: the right time for God's intervention has not yet come. But someday that time will come. For the good God is a lover of good. Not of arrogant pride and cunning iniquity...

The Church entrusts everything to Mary. Mary kept everything in her heart. This was the beginning of the activity of the Mother of Jesus. Not an excess of words, only silence. Until the eighth day after her birth, when she went with Joseph to circumcise her Son, according to the tradition of Israel. By then the whole world had learned the name of the Messiah, which seemed very common...

...Jesus, I ask for the grace to interpret everyday events according to Your expectations... I ask for the grace to set off 'with haste' to search for the One who was born for me... Thank You that You are born for me today...

...God, I am impatient... I would like to, now... When You do not react to human iniquity, I suspect that You are indifferent to the fate of the wronged... However, I know, I trust, that it is not that You are waiting for the right time... You are waiting for things to ripen... Ripe fruit is always better than one picked too early...
