EWANGELIA - J 1, 1-18 (Słowo stało się ciałem)

Na początku było Słowo, a Słowo było u Boga, i Bogiem było Słowo. Ono było na początku u Boga. Wszystko przez Nie się stało, a bez Niego nic się nie stało, z tego, co się stało.
W Nim było życie, a życie było światłością ludzi, a światłość w ciemności świeci i ciemność jej nie ogarnęła.
Pojawił się człowiek posłany przez Boga, Jan mu było na imię. Przyszedł on na świadectwo, aby zaświadczyć o światłości, by wszyscy uwierzyli przez niego. Nie był on światłością, lecz został posłany, aby zaświadczyć o światłości.
Była światłość prawdziwa, która oświeca każdego człowieka, gdy na świat przychodzi. Na świecie było Słowo, a świat stał się przez Nie, lecz świat Go nie poznał. Przyszło do swojej własności, a swoi Go nie przyjęli. Wszystkim tym jednak, którzy Je przyjęli, dało moc, aby się stali dziećmi Bożymi, tym, którzy wierzą w imię Jego – którzy ani z krwi, ani z żądzy ciała, ani z woli męża, ale z Boga się narodzili.
A Słowo stało się ciałem i zamieszkało wśród nas. I oglądaliśmy Jego chwałę, chwałę, jaką Jednorodzony otrzymuje od Ojca, pełen łaski i prawdy.

MEDYTACJA

„Na początku było Słowo”... Na początku naszego istnienia była Miłość, która powołała nas do życia. Bóg bardzo chciał, byśmy byli. Nie zostawia nas, ale prowadzi przez wszystkie dni i chce być Przewodnikiem na naszej drodze w tym wszystkim, co przed nami...

„Słowo stało się ciałem i zamieszkało wśród nas”... Jezus wszedł w nasz świat, w to wszystko, co zwyczajne i ludzkie. Jest z nami, by towarzyszyć nam
w przeżywaniu codzienności. Nie ma takiej ciemności, której On nie mógłby rozproszyć swoim światłem. Nie ma takiego zmagania, w którym On nie chciałby być źródłem naszej siły i wytrwałości. Powiedzmy Mu, gdzie najbardziej potrzebujemy doświadczenia Jego obecności...

Zabiegani i pogrążeni w troskach możemy nie dostrzegać gestów Bożej czułości. Skoncentrowani na tym, co trudne, możemy nie pozwalać sobie na przyjęcie Jego prowadzenia. Prośmy Boga, by otwierał nasze serce na Jego działanie. Prośmy o serce uważne i ufne. Takie serce pozwala prowadzić się na drodze, która nie zawsze jest zrozumiała...

"Słowo stało się ciałem i zamieszkało między nami. I oglądaliśmy Jego chwałę, chwałę, jaką Jednorodzony otrzymuje od Ojca, pełen łaski i prawdy" (J 1, 14)...

Bóg stał się człowiekiem. Tę prawdę nieustannie kontemplujemy. Bóg wszedł w nasze życie i stał się bezbronnym dzieckiem. Jan Apostoł, bo on jest uważany za Ewangelistę, mówi o Logosie u Boga i Jego sprawczej roli w stworzeniu i odkupieniu. Powinniśmy Go słuchać i przyjmować, aby stać się dziećmi Boga...

Jezus, który jest Słowem Boga do ludzkości, jest zarazem Synem i Bogiem. Jeśli przylgniemy do Niego, stajemy się synami. Jeśli Go odrzucimy, odrzucimy naszą rzeczywistość synów. Ostatecznie chodzi o to za czym opowiadamy się. To jest nasz sąd, ale i sąd o nas...

Jan Ewangelista ukazuje w Prologu do swojej księgi, że cały świat (w tym i my), przyroda, historia, powinny być interpretowane w kontekście Boga, bo od Niego zależą. Od pierwszego wersetu mówi o tym, że Słowem od zawsze istniejącym, że Słowem stwarzającym, jest Jezus...

Ewangelista przypomina, że w łatwych i w trudnych czasach, jesteśmy niezmiennie w rękach Najwyższego, który stał się człowiekiem z miłości. Jesteśmy
w rękach „Słowa”, które jest od zawsze, Które jest życiem i światłością. To wskazówka na teraźniejszość i na przyszłość...

Nie zniechęcajmy się. Żyjmy w ten sposób, by to On był najważniejszy, aby Jego światłość, miłość, miłosierdzie, pokój, jedność działy się w nas i przez nas. Żyjmy tak, aby Ewangelia wydarzała się w czasie teraźniejszym...

Mamy „namaszczenie od Świętego” i wszyscy jesteśmy „napełnieni wiedzą”. Trzeba po prostu ignorować nowinki, nowinki antychrystów, a trzymać się niezmiennej od wieków nauki Chrystusa...

Święty Jan w prologu Ewangelii zaprasza nas do kontemplacji tajemnicy Boga, który staje się człowiekiem. Nie wystarczy jednak być, aby świadomie przyjąć nadchodzącą światłość. Potrzebna jest również decyzja, by każdego dnia, i w każdej chwili życia, wybierać przedwiecznego Boga, Początek i Koniec...

...Jezu, proszę o dar kontemplacji Słowa, aby czyniło mnie coraz bardziej Twoim dzieckiem... Proszę o zrozumienie tego, „jak Bóg umiłował świat”... Dziękuję za Twoje utożsamienie się z nami, za prawdziwe człowieczeństwo, słabość i pokorę...

...Jezu, dziękuję za Twoją Ewangelię, za to, że mogą dziś sięgnąć do tego, czego nas uczyłeś... Różnych słyszę dziś nauczycieli... Są wśród nich i tacy, którzy powołują się na Twoją Ewangelię, ale... Dziękuję, że mogę sprawdzić, czy mają rację... Dziękuję, że to, czego uczyłeś, choć radykalne, dalekie jest od skrajności... Pomóż mi trwać w Twojej nauce... Nie daj, bym ją zamienił na własne pomysły i interpretacje...

TUESDAY, Seventh day in the Octave of Christmas

GOSPEL - J 1, 1-18 (The Word became flesh)

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.
In Him was life, and the life was the light of men; and the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it.
A man appeared, sent from God, whose name was John. He came as a witness, to testify to the light, so that all might believe through Him. He was not the light, but was sent to testify to the light.
The true light, which enlightens every man, was coming into the world. The Word was in the world, and the world was made through Him, but the world did not recognize Him. He came to his own, and his own did not receive Him. But to all who received Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave power to become children of God—born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of a man, but of God.
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us. And we saw His glory, the glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.
John bears witness to Him and exclaims with a loud voice, saying: “This was He of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me is more precious than I am, because he was before me.’” From His fullness we have all received—grace upon grace.
While the Law was given through Moses, grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
No one has ever seen God; the only Son of God, who is in the bosom of the Father, has taught about Him.

MEDITATION

“In the beginning was the Word”... In the beginning of our existence was Love, which called us into being. God very much wanted us to be. He does not abandon us, but leads us through all our days and wants to be our Guide on our path in all that lies ahead...

“The Word became flesh and dwelt among us”... Jesus entered our world, in all that is ordinary and human. He is with us to accompany us in our daily lives. There is no darkness that He cannot dispel with His light. There is no struggle in which He does not want to be the source of our strength and perseverance. Let us tell Him where we most need to experience His presence...

Busy and immersed in worries, we may not notice the gestures of God’s tenderness. Focused on what is difficult, we may not allow ourselves to accept His guidance. Let us ask God to open our hearts to His action. Let us ask for an attentive and trusting heart. Such a heart allows us to be guided on a path that is not always understandable...

"The Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth" (Jn 1:14)...

God became man. We contemplate this truth constantly. God entered our lives and became a defenseless child. He dwelt among us and thanks to this we can experience his presence, give him glory and constantly receive him in the Eucharist, in which the Word fills and enlivens our daily life...

John the Apostle, because he is considered an Evangelist, speaks of the Logos in God and his causative role in creation and redemption. We should listen to him and accept him in order to become children of God...

Jesus, who is the Word of God to humanity, is both Son and God. If we adhere to him, we become sons. If we reject him, we reject our reality as sons. Ultimately, it is about what we stand for. This is our judgment, but also a judgment about us...

In the words of the Evangelist John we also see a deep Christology - the knowledge and understanding of Jesus that the early Church had...

"Through Him all things were made". The entire universe, each individual reality, was called into existence by the Word and He is the source of everything. There is diversity and relationships in this, listening and response, acceptance and responsibility, intelligence and freedom. The universe of the Word is positive, intended for life and happiness...

In the Prologue to his book, the Evangelist John shows that the entire world (including us), nature, history, should be interpreted in the context of God, because they depend on Him. From the first verse he says that the Word that has always existed, that the Word that creates, is Jesus...

The Evangelist reminds us that in easy and difficult times, we are invariably in the hands of the Most High, who became man out of love. We are in the hands of the "Word" that has always been, Who is life and light. This is a hint for the present and the future...

Let us not be discouraged. Let us live in such a way that He is the most important, that His light, love, mercy, peace, unity happen in us and through us. Let us live in such a way that the Gospel happens in the present tense...

The words we hear today as the first reading today are disturbing in the peaceful discourse of the First Letter of Saint John: it is the last hour, the antichrist is coming; even many antichrists. Interesting: who have gone out from us, but were not of us...

The words of the Evangelist John are still relevant. We are still living in the last hour. There are still many antichrists who are coming out from us, but were not of us. We are living in the last hour. For if Christ returns now, it will be for judgment...

In all the confusion caused by various antichrists of today, it is worth remembering the hope that the Evangelist John gives us at the end of his discourse: we know the truth. We have an "anointing from the Holy One" and we are all "filled with knowledge". We simply have to ignore the news, the news of the antichrists, and stick to the unchanging teaching of Christ for centuries...

In the prologue of the Gospel, Saint John invites us to contemplate the mystery of God who becomes man. The Incarnation of the Word is an expression of God's love that enters our daily lives, bringing light and grace. It is a reminder that even in the greatest darkness God's presence transforms our hearts and leads us to the fullness of truth...

The words of the Evangelist John make us reflect not only on the passing of time, but also on the beginning and end of everything. However, it is not enough to be in order to consciously accept the coming light. It is also necessary to decide, every day, and in every moment of life, to choose the eternal God, the Beginning and the End...

...Jesus, I ask for the gift of contemplating the Word, so that it may make me more and more your child... I ask for an understanding of "how God loved the world"... I thank you for identifying with us, for true humanity, weakness and humility...

...Jesus, I thank you for your Gospel, for the fact that today we can reach for what you taught us... I hear different teachers today... There are also those among them who refer to your Gospel, but... Thank you that I can check if they are right... Thank you that what you taught, although radical, is far from extreme... Help me to persevere in your teaching... Do not let me exchange it for my own ideas and interpretations...
