EWANGELIA - J 20, 2-8 (Jan przybył pierwszy do grobu)

Pierwszego dnia po szabacie Maria Magdalena pobiegła i przybyła do Szymona Piotra oraz do drugiego ucznia, którego Jezus kochał, i rzekła do nich: «Zabrano Pana z grobu i nie wiemy, gdzie Go położono».
Wyszedł więc Piotr i ów drugi uczeń i szli do grobu. Biegli obydwaj razem, lecz ów drugi uczeń wyprzedził Piotra i przybył pierwszy do grobu. A kiedy się nachylił, zobaczył leżące płótna, jednakże nie wszedł do środka.
Nadszedł potem także Szymon Piotr, idący za nim. Wszedł on do wnętrza grobu i ujrzał leżące płótna oraz chustę, która była na Jego głowie, leżącą nie razem z płótnami, ale oddzielnie zwiniętą w jednym miejscu. Wtedy wszedł do wnętrza także i ów drugi uczeń, który przybył pierwszy do grobu. Ujrzał
i uwierzył.

MEDYTACJA

Święty Jan określa siebie mianem 'umiłowanego ucznia'. Nie oznacza to, że Jezus kochał go bardziej, niż innych Apostołów. Ten tytuł wskazuje na otwartość Jana wobec miłości Jezusa. Jan po prostu pozwolił Jezusowi siebie pokochać...

"Biegli oni obydwaj razem, lecz ów drugi uczeń wyprzedził Piotra i przybył pierwszy do grobu" (J 20, 4)...

Gdy Piotr i Jan dowiadują się, że Jezusa nie ma w grobie, jak najszybciej chcą się tam dostać i biegną. Ich bieg wyraża zaangażowanie, ciekawość, a przede wszystkim tęsknotę. Tęsknotę za tym, by zobaczyć, że Jezus naprawdę żyje. Moment wejścia Piotra do grobu i zobaczenia przez niego jedynie płótna i chusty, święty Jan podsumowuje słowami: 'Ujrzał i uwierzył'...

Święty Jan apostoł, uczeń którego Jezus miłował, znów wyprzedził Piotra, Księcia Apostołów. Postać Jana od początku odczytywana była przez Ojców Kościoła jako uosobienie charyzmatu, ikonę życia monastycznego. Największy z charyzmatów to miłość. Ten, kto prawdziwie kocha, rozpozna Pana jako pierwszy. Ten, kto kocha odkryję prawdę o zmartwychwstaniu szybciej...

Zaskoczeniem jest pusty grób. W Święto świętego Jana Apostoła jesteśmy zaproszeni, aby wraz z nim biec do grobu, by znaleźć odpowiedź na pytanie: co dla nas znaczy pragnienie spotkania Pana, szukania miejsca, gdzie On jest, pustka grobu, leżące płótna i chusta?...

Jan, umiłowany uczeń, jest dzisiaj naszym przewodnikiem. On posłuchał świadectwa Marii Magdaleny, zapragnął spotkania z Panem, a w końcu ujrzał
i uwierzył. Zaprasza nas, by wybrać się w wędrówkę ku Temu, który nas umiłował...

Poranek zmartwychwstania dla Marii, Piotra i Jana jest pełen zaskoczeń i emocji. Jej bieg do Wieczernika i potem uczniów do grobu, jest znakiem emocji, wspomnień i poruszeń wywołanych zaskakującą wieścią. Jednocześnie uwrażliwia na znaki Zmartwychwstałego, rozpoznanie ich i wiarę...

Dziś przypada święto Jana Apostoła, najmłodszego ucznia, świadka zmartwychwstania Chrystusa. Apostołowie pokazują, jak działa wiarygodność
w chrześcijaństwie, której tak bardzo nam potrzeba: Jan 'ujrzał i uwierzył'. Obydwaj z Piotrem słyszeli wcześniej o zmartwychwstaniu Jezusa od kobiet. Jednak musieli zobaczyć na własne oczy to, co się stało. Same słowa ich nie przekonały...

Ludzie, patrząc na chrześcijański sposób naszego życia, na nasze nawrócenie, zmianę, mogą uwierzyć w Boga i Bogu. Same słowa i deklaracje są dziś niewystarczające...

Od żłóbka w ubogiej stajence Ewangelista Jan przenosi nas do pustego grobu. Jan, umiłowany uczeń Jezusa, biegnie po zmartwychwstaniu do grobu wraz
z Piotrem. Po słowach Marii Magdaleny: 'Zabrano Pana z grobu i nie wiemy, gdzie Go położono', Apostołowie pragną zobaczyć, co się wydarzyło. Jan wyprzedził w tej drodze Piotra i jako pierwszy dostrzegł ślady obecności Jezusa – 'leżące płótna oraz chustę'. I uwierzył...

Wiara popaschalna to przyjęcie nauki Jezusa, a więc słowa potwierdzonej przez Jego czyny. Świadkami tej nauki są uczniowie wszystkich czasów, dla których Biblia stanowi przewodnik i pokarm umacniający wiarę, która prowadzi do sakramentów i realizuje się w konkrecie życia przez czyny miłości...

"Ojcze, który jesteś w niebie, niech wiara, którą nam dałeś w Twoim Synu Jezusie Chrystusie, naszym Bracie, i płomień miłości rozlany w naszych sercach przez Ducha Świętego, obudzą w nas błogosławioną nadzieję na przyjście Twojego Królestwa" (Papież Franciszek)...

Jest wiele podobieństw między ludźmi przybywającymi do Nowonarodzonego i tymi, którzy po śmierci Jezusa biegną do Jego grobu. Po pierwsze, Chrystus tak na początku, jak i na końcu swojego ziemskiego życia, wchodzi w bezbronność i bezradność człowieka...

Maryja, Matka Jezusa, po narodzeniu trzyma Dzieciątko w rękach i odkłada Je do spania, a po Jego śmierci – znów trzyma ciało Syna w ramionach,
a następnie składa w grobie...

Spotkanie z Nowonarodzonym prowadzi oddających Mu pokłon do wiary, podobnie jak pusty grób i leżące chusty. W tych scenach możemy wpatrywać się
w człowieczeństwo Jezusa zapraszające nas do bliskości – dotykania, słuchania i oglądania Boga. To prowadzi nas do wiary, że Ten prawdziwie jest Synem Bożym...

...Jezu, proszę o doświadczenie głębokiego spotkania z żywym Tobą... Proszę o łaskę widzenia i wiary w Twoją obecność tam, gdzie czujemy pustkę
i pragnienie Twojej obecności... Dziękuję za tych, którzy, jak Maria Magdalena, są dla mnie świadkiem wiary...

FRIDAY, Feast of St. John, apostle and evangelist

GOSPEL - J 20:2-8 (John arrived first at the tomb)

On the first day after the Sabbath, Mary Magdalene ran and came to Simon Peter and to the other disciple, whom Jesus loved, and said to them, "They have taken away the Lord out of the tomb, and we do not know where they have laid him."
So Peter and the other disciple went out and went to the tomb. They both ran together, but the other disciple outran Peter and came first to the tomb. And stooping down, he saw the linen cloths lying there, but he did not go in.
Then Simon Peter also came, following him, and went into the tomb and saw the linen cloths lying there, and the cloth that had been around his head, not with the linen cloths but rolled up in a place by itself. Then the other disciple, who had arrived first at the tomb, also entered. He saw and believed.

MEDITATION

Saint John calls himself the 'beloved disciple'. This does not mean that Jesus loved him more than the other Apostles. This title indicates John's openness to Jesus' love. John simply allowed Jesus to love him...

"They both ran together, but the other disciple outran Peter and arrived first at the tomb" (Jn 20:4)...

When Peter and John learn that Jesus is not in the tomb, they want to get there as quickly as possible and they run. Their running expresses commitment, curiosity, and above all longing. Longing to see that Jesus is really alive. The moment when Peter entered the tomb and saw only the linen cloth and a cloth, Saint John summed up with the words: 'He saw and believed'...

Saint John the apostle, the disciple whom Jesus loved, once again got ahead of Peter, the Prince of the Apostles. From the beginning, the figure of John was interpreted by the Fathers of the Church as the embodiment of charism, an icon of monastic life. The greatest of charisms is love. He who truly loves will recognize the Lord first. He who loves will discover the truth about the resurrection faster...

The empty tomb is a surprise. On the Feast of Saint John the Apostle, we are invited to run with him to the tomb, to find the answer to the question: what does the desire to meet the Lord, to seek the place where He is, the emptiness of the tomb, the lying linen cloths and the cloth mean to us?...

John, the beloved disciple, is our guide today. He listened to the testimony of Mary Magdalene, desired to meet the Lord, and finally saw and believed. He invites us to set out on a journey towards the One who loved us...

The morning of the resurrection for Mary, Peter and John is full of surprises and emotions. Her run to the Cenacle and then the disciples to the tomb is a sign of emotions, memories and movements caused by the surprising news. At the same time, it sensitizes us to the signs of the Risen One, recognizing them and faith...

Today is the feast of John the Apostle, the youngest disciple, a witness to the resurrection of Christ. The Apostles show how credibility works in Christianity, which we need so much: John 'saw and believed'. Both of them and Peter had previously heard about the resurrection of Jesus from women. However, they had to see with their own eyes what had happened. Words alone did not convince them...

People, looking at the Christian way of our life, at our conversion, change, can believe in God and in God. Words and declarations alone are insufficient today...

From the manger in the poor stable, the Evangelist John takes us to the empty tomb. John, the beloved disciple of Jesus, runs to the tomb with Peter after the resurrection. After the words of Mary Magdalene: 'They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we do not know where they have laid him', the Apostles want to see what has happened. John preceded Peter on this journey and was the first to notice the traces of Jesus' presence - 'the linen cloths and the cloth lying there'. And he believed...

Post-paschal faith is the acceptance of Jesus' teaching, that is, the word confirmed by his actions. Witnesses to this teaching are the disciples of all times, for whom the Bible is the guide and nourishment that strengthens faith, which leads to the sacraments and is realized in the concreteness of life through acts of love...

"Father, who art in heaven, may the faith which you have given us in your Son Jesus Christ, our Brother, and the flame of love poured into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, awaken in us the blessed hope of the coming of your Kingdom" (Pope Francis)...

There are many similarities between the people who come to the Newborn and those who, after Jesus' death, run to his tomb. Firstly, both at the beginning and at the end of his earthly life, Christ enters into the defenselessness and helplessness of man...

Mary, the Mother of Jesus, after his birth holds the Child in her arms and puts him to sleep, and after his death – she holds the body of her Son in her arms again and then places him in the tomb...

The encounter with the Newborn leads those who worship him to faith, just like the empty tomb and the lying scarves. In these scenes we can gaze upon the humanity of Jesus inviting us to closeness – touching, listening and seeing God. This leads us to faith that He is truly the Son of God...

...Jesus, I ask for the experience of a profound encounter with the living You... I ask for the grace of seeing and believing in Your presence where we feel emptiness and a desire for Your presence... I thank you for those who, like Mary Magdalene, are witnesses of faith for me...
