SOBOTA, Wspomnienie św. Ambrożego, biskupa i doktora Kościoła

EWANGELIA - Mt 9, 35 - 10, 1. 5a. 6-8 (Jezus lituje się nad znękanymi)

Jezus obchodził wszystkie miasta i wioski. Nauczał w tamtejszych synagogach, głosił Ewangelię o królestwie i leczył wszystkie choroby i wszystkie słabości.
A widząc tłumy, litował się nad nimi, bo byli znękani i porzuceni, jak owce niemające pasterza. Wtedy rzekł do swych uczniów: «Żniwo wprawdzie wielkie, ale robotników mało. Proście Pana żniwa, żeby wyprawił robotników na swoje żniwo».
Wtedy przywołał do siebie dwunastu swoich uczniów i udzielił im władzy nad duchami nieczystymi, aby je wypędzali i leczyli wszystkie choroby i wszelkie słabości. Tych to dwunastu wysłał Jezus i dał im takie wskazania: «Idźcie do owiec, które poginęły z domu Izraela. Idźcie i głoście: Bliskie już jest królestwo niebieskie. Uzdrawiajcie chorych, wskrzeszajcie umarłych, oczyszczajcie trędowatych, wypędzajcie złe duchy. Darmo otrzymaliście, darmo dawajcie».

MEDYTACJA

Jezus obchodził wszystkie miasta i wioski, aby nikogo, kto potrzebowałby doświadczenia Jego mocy, nie pominąć. Lituje się nad biedą człowieka. Nie chce zostawić ludzi samych, bez przewodnika. Często bieda duchowa jest znacznie większa niż ta materialna...

Jezus do swojej misji zaprasza tych, którzy są Mu szczególnie bliscy. Pragnie, aby głosili i znakami potwierdzali bliskość królestwa niebieskiego wśród braci
i sióstr...

"Proście Pana żniwa, żeby wyprawił robotników na swoje żniwo" (Mt 9, 38). Jezus zachęca nas do modlitwy, prośby o nowe powołania do służby Bożej. Potrzebujemy odważnych świadków Chrystusa, którzy będą gotowi do głoszenia Ewangelii aż po krańce świata. Kościół pragnie mieć świętych oraz gorliwych kapłanów, misjonarzy, zakonników...

Po wygłoszeniu Kazania na Górze Jezus pokazuje w swojej misji, jak realizują się Jego słowa. Daje wyraźny sygnał, że ‘czas nadszedł’, zbawienie już się realizuje...

Uczniowie nie ‘niosą zbawienia’. Oni ogłaszają jego obecność w świecie, mają ‘otwierać ludziom oczy’. Apostołowie nie są ani uczeni w Prawie, ani mądrzy lub doskonali. To zwykli ludzie, grzesznicy. Różni ich bardzo dużo. Jedyne, co ich łączy to wezwanie Jezusa, by jak On, stali się synami Ojca i braćmi dla siebie nawzajem. Bóg nie wybiera według kryteriów dobra, wykształcenia lub operatywności. On chce, byśmy byli braćmi...

Uczniowie są świadkami Pana. Czynią to, co On: uzdrawiają, przywracają do życia, oczyszczają, uwalniają od złego. Mają czynić to za darmo. To przypomnienie jest obecne tylko u ewangelisty Mateusza. Jest to element ‘reguły misyjnej’, która uwiarygadnia uczniów wobec świata...

Jezus obchodził wszystkie miasta i wioski. Nauczał w synagogach, głosił Ewangelię, uzdrawiał. Na tym etapie formacji zaprosił uczniów do współdziałania
w tym dziele, do współpracy. To ważny moment - przejście do etapu, kiedy zaczynają dzielić się wiarą z innymi ludźmi, potwierdzając to sposobem życia, znakami...

Na początku uczniowie mają iść do Izraelitów, a z czasem Jezus rozszerzy tę misję na cały świat, na wszystkich ludzi. Wystarczy czasami nam 'jedynie' żyć Bogiem i Ewangelią, abyśmy stawali się wiarygodni w naszym chrześcijaństwie. Pokazywać przez sposób życia, że On jest na pierwszym miejscu...

Biblijny obraz żniwa posiada jak najbardziej pozytywne skojarzenia: plonu, obfitości, wspólnego świętowania i radości. Zamyka proces wegetacji, ale nie kończy rozwoju. Zebrane plony są przetwarzane dalej na mąkę...

Robotnicy, których wybiera i posyła Pan żniwa, to ludzie potrafiący dostrzec potencjał zbiorów Jego oczami, uznający i doceniający wartość, wsłuchujący się
w Boga, by zgodnie z Jego wolą, Jego poznaniem każdego ziarna, puścić je dalej tam, gdzie On sugeruje...

Pan żniwa, a nie tylko Pan pola, to zaangażowany, czuwający w każdej chwili przy człowieku, Bóg. A prawdziwy Jego współpracownik to ten, który Pana poważa, uznaje Jego Mądrość i Jego koncepcję za bardziej właściwe niż własne...

...Jezu, proszę o tęsknotę za Tobą aż do bólu serca... Proszę o nawrócenie, o łaskę, bym nie przysłaniał sobą nikomu drogi do Boga... Dziękuję za wspólnotę sióstr i braci, za wspólnotę Kościoła...

SATURDAY, Memorial of St. Ambrose, Bishop and Doctor of the Church

GOSPEL - Mt 9, 35 - 10, 1. 5a. 6-8 (Jesus has compassion on the oppressed)

Jesus went through all the cities and villages. He taught in their synagogues, preached the Gospel of the kingdom, and healed every disease and every infirmity.
And when he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, "The harvest is plenteous, but the laborers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest."
Then he called his twelve disciples to himself and gave them authority over unclean spirits to cast them out and to heal every disease and every infirmity. These twelve he sent and gave them these instructions: "Go to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. Go and proclaim: The kingdom of heaven is at hand. Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons. You received without payment, give without payment».

MEDITATION

Jesus went around all the cities and villages so that no one who needed to experience his power would be left out. He takes pity on human poverty. He does not want to leave people alone, without a guide. Often spiritual poverty is much greater than material poverty...

Jesus invites those who are particularly close to him to his mission. He wants them to proclaim and confirm with signs the nearness of the kingdom of heaven among their brothers and sisters...

“Pray the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest” (Mt 9:38). Jesus invites us to pray, to ask for new vocations to serve God. We need courageous witnesses of Christ who will be ready to proclaim the Gospel to the ends of the earth. The Church desires to have saints and zealous priests, missionaries, monks...

After preaching the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus shows in his mission how his words are being fulfilled. He gives a clear signal that 'the time has come', salvation is already being realized...

The disciples do not 'bring salvation'. They announce his presence in the world, they are to 'open people's eyes'. The apostles are neither scholars of the Law, nor wise or perfect. They are ordinary people, sinners. They differ a lot. The only thing that unites them is Jesus' call to become, like him, sons of the Father and brothers to each other. God does not choose according to the criteria of goodness, education or efficiency. He wants us to be brothers...

The disciples are witnesses of the Lord. They do what he does: they heal, bring back to life, cleanse, free from evil. They are to do this for free. This reminder is present only in the evangelist Matthew. This is an element of the ‘missionary rule’, which makes the disciples credible to the world...

Jesus went around all the cities and villages. He taught in the synagogues, preached the Gospel, healed. At this stage of formation, he invited the disciples to cooperate in this work, to collaborate. This is an important moment - a transition to the stage when they begin to share their faith with other people, confirming it with their way of life, signs...

At first, the disciples are to go to the Israelites, and in time Jesus will extend this mission to the whole world, to all people. Sometimes it is enough for us to ‘just’ live by God and the Gospel, so that we become credible in our Christianity. To show through the way of life that He is in the first place...

The biblical image of the harvest has the most positive associations: yield, abundance, joint celebration and joy. It closes the process of vegetation, but does not end development. The harvested crops are further processed into flour...

The workers whom the Lord of the harvest chooses and sends are people who are able to see the potential of the harvest through His eyes, who recognize
and appreciate the value, who listen to God, so that, in accordance with His will, His knowledge of each grain, they can send it further where He suggests...

The Lord of the harvest, and not just the Lord of the field, is the engaged, watching over man at every moment, God. And His true collaborator is the one who respects the Lord, recognizes His Wisdom and His concept as more appropriate than their own...

... Jesus, I ask for a longing for You to the point of heartache... I ask for conversion, for the grace that I may not block anyone's path to God... I thank you for the community of sisters and brothers, for the community of the Church...
