EWANGELIA - J 14, 27-31a (Pokój zostawiam wam)

Jezus powiedział do swoich uczniów:
«Pokój zostawiam wam, pokój mój daję wam. Nie tak jak daje świat, Ja wam daję. Niech się nie trwoży serce wasze ani się nie lęka. Słyszeliście, że wam powiedziałem: Odchodzę i przyjdę znów do was. Gdybyście Mnie miłowali, rozradowalibyście się, że idę do Ojca, bo Ojciec większy jest ode Mnie.
A teraz powiedziałem wam o tym, zanim to nastąpi, abyście uwierzyli, gdy się to stanie. Już nie będę z wami wiele mówił, nadchodzi bowiem władca tego świata. Nie ma on jednak nic swego we Mnie. Ale niech świat się dowie, że Ja miłuję Ojca i że tak czynię, jak Mi Ojciec nakazał».

MEDYTACJA

Jezus powiedział, że daje nam pokój, ale nie tak, jak daje świat. Pokój, czyli wewnętrzne wyciszenie, które daje Jezus, ma dwie cechy: jest bezwarunkowe
i trwałe. Jezus chce nas obdarzać pokojem zawsze...

Jezus mówi uczniom: gdybyście mnie miłowali, rozradowalibyście się, że idę do Ojca. Wydaje się, że dla uczniów nie jest to radosna informacja, skoro Jezus im to wypomina. Jezus przeżywa tę chwilę i to co nastąpi w pokoju, który obejmuje nie tylko emocje. Chce również uczniów doprowadzić do takiego doświadczenia - wewnętrznego wyciszenia, przekraczającego niezrozumienie czy inne trudne emocje...

Mając świadomość tego, co się wydarzy, Jezus opiera wszystkie swoje działania i decyzje na relacji z Ojcem, który 'jest większy od Niego'...

"Niech świat się dowie, że Ja miłuję Ojca" (J 14, 31). To przewodni motyw misji Jezusa. Również motorem napędowym Kościoła jest dawanie świadectwa
o miłości do Boga. Tylko to jest ważne...

Święci są interesujący, gdyż ich miłość do Boga jest czysta, bezinteresowna, ofiarna, dynamiczna i radosna...

Jezus ma przed sobą przestraszonych uczniów. Mają jeszcze w pamięci spory z Żydami, niebezpieczeństwo, jakie groziło Jemu i im. Przed chwilą Judasz ich opuścił, a Piotr usłyszał zapowiedź zaparcia się. Myśli uczniów są dalekie od pokoju. I wtedy słyszą zapowiedź daru pokoju, jakiego świat dać nie może...

Uczniowie nie są jeszcze gotowi na przyjęcie daru pokoju, ale Jezus zapowiada go, aby objawić w pełni swoją miłość do Ojca i czynienie wszystkiego, co On Mu zlecił...

Jezus nie pozostawia nas w pułapce strachu i niepokoju. Nie chce, abyśmy się zniechęcali. Jego dziedzictwem nie jest złowroga pustka, lecz dziedzictwo pokoju, wiary w Boga, który troszczy się o świat, chce zbawienia i prowadzi go do niego...

W obliczu zbliżającego się krzyża, Jezus zachęca byśmy nie byli zaniepokojeni ani przerażeni. Mamy ufać Bogu i Jego obietnicom, zwłaszcza w obliczu niepewności i trudności. Ostrzega również przed strachem, który może paraliżować i uniemożliwiać działanie zgodne z wolą Bożą...

Boży pokój to nie ten, który oferuje świat. Pokój pochodzący od Boga jest głęboki, trwały i nie zależy od okoliczności zewnętrznych. Można doświadczać niesprawiedliwych wyroków, osądzeń, a nawet więzienia i być spokojnym. Bo pokój, który Jezus daje, umacnia nas w obliczu nieuchronnych trudności i prób wiary...

Pokój w sercu, to świadomość, że wszystko w naszym życiu jest na swoim miejscu. To odczuwanie sensu i myśl, że jesteśmy komuś potrzebni i dla kogoś ważni. Mamy wtedy siłę przeciwstawiać się trudnościom...

Świat jest w stanie zaspokoić wiele naszych potrzeb, lecz nie wypełni jednej: relacji z osobowym Bogiem. Mniejsze nie wypełni większego. Bóg natomiast wszystko może dać i wszystkiego dotknąć swoją łaską. Po co zatem szukamy światowych gwarancji, skoro jesteśmy dla Boga tak ważni, że to nas wyrył na obu Swych dłoniach (Iz 49,16)?...

...Jezu, proszę o dogłębne doświadczenie Twojego pokoju i wolność od lęku... Proszę o przyjęcie daru pokoju i zachowywanie Twojego słowa... Dziękuję za przykład miłości i posłuszeństwa wobec Ojca...

GOSPEL - J 14, 27-31a (Peace I leave with you)

Jesus said to his disciples:
«Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives, I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. You have heard that I said to you: I am going away and will come to you again. If you loved me, you would rejoice that I am going to the Father, because the Father is greater than me.
And now I have told you these things before it happens, so that when it happens you may believe. I will no longer speak much to you, for the ruler of this world is coming. But he has nothing of his own in Me. But let the world know that I love the Father and that I do as the Father commands me.

MEDITATION

Jesus said he gives us peace, but not like the world gives. The peace, or inner peace, that Jesus gives has two features: it is unconditional and durable. Jesus wants to give us peace always...

Jesus tells the disciples: If you loved me, you would rejoice that I am going to the Father. It seems that this is not happy news for the disciples, since Jesus reminds them of it. Jesus experiences this moment and what will come in a peace that includes more than just emotions. He also wants to lead students to such an experience - inner peace, transcending misunderstanding or other difficult emotions...

Being aware of what will happen, Jesus bases all his actions and decisions on the relationship with the Father who 'is greater than Him'...

"Let the world know that I love the Father" (John 14:31). This is the main theme of Jesus' mission. Giving witness is also the driving force of the Church
about love for God. Only this is important...

Saints are interesting because their love for God is pure, selfless, sacrificial, dynamic and joyful...

Jesus faces frightened disciples. They still remember the disputes with the Jews and the danger that threatened him and them. Judas had just left them, and Peter heard the announcement of denial. The disciples' thoughts are far from peace. And then they hear the announcement of the gift of peace that the world cannot give...

The disciples are not yet ready to receive the gift of peace, but Jesus announces it in order to fully reveal his love for the Father and to do everything he has commissioned him...

Jesus does not leave us trapped in fear and anxiety. He doesn't want us to get discouraged. His legacy is not a sinister emptiness, but a legacy of peace, faith in God who cares for the world, wants salvation and leads it to it...

As the cross approaches, Jesus encourages us not to be anxious or afraid. We are to trust God and His promises, especially in the face of uncertainty and difficulty. It also warns against fear, which can paralyze and prevent us from acting in accordance with God's will...

God's peace is not the peace the world offers. The peace that comes from God is deep, lasting and does not depend on external circumstances. You can experience unjust sentences, judgments, or even imprisonment and be at peace. Because the peace that Jesus gives strengthens us in the face of inevitable difficulties and tests of faith...

Peace in the heart is the awareness that everything in our lives is in its place. It is feeling meaningful and thinking that we are needed by someone and important to someone. Then we have the strength to face difficulties...

The world is able to meet many of our needs, but it will not fulfill one: a relationship with a personal God. The smaller one won't fill the bigger one. God, however, can give everything and touch everything with his grace. So why do we look for worldly guarantees if we are so important to God that He engraved us on His two hands (Is 49:16)?...

...Jesus, I am asking for a profound experience of Your peace and freedom from fear... I am asking you to accept the gift of peace and keep Your Word... Thank you for the example of love and obedience to the Father...
